vision, mission & values
A world where all children have opportunities to develop their skills and talents and the chance to reach their full potential.
To improve the quality of life for deprived children in rural Ghana and Uganda through creative early childhood development programmes that enliven minds and empower communities to change their lives for the better.
We believe that people can only break the cycle of poverty if they are empowered to develop skills, vision and drive to make improvements to their community. The solutions don’t need to be complicated or expensive. We find creative, low-cost and practical ways, using local resources, to bring about lasting change. We are a non-political, non-religious organisation.

We work with deprived rural communities to help them gain what they want and need for themselves and their children.
We use local talent and local resources so that our programmes can be run and sustained by resource-poor local governments and by communities themselves.
Our programmes are designed to empower duty-bearers (parents, local government officials teachers, community leaders) by giving them the skills, vision and drive to take action themselves. We simply provide the training.
Although the challenges are enormous, we believe there are plenty of simple and cheap methods that can dramatically improve the quality of life for children. The communities and local governments we work with have limited funds, as do we. Creative use of local resources and lively minds helps us tackle complex problems with cheap and simple solutions.
We work with some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in the world. We want to ensure that their rights are protected. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
