what we do

We believe that every child should be given the opportunities to develop their full potential so that they have the best possible chances for the future. We work to give children living in poverty in Ghana and Uganda these opportunities and we do this by developing their skills and empowering communities so that they can change their lives for the better. Our projects are truly sustainable and importantly are designed to be replicated over and over again in new villages so that we can reach thousands of children.

play & learning centres

We set up play and learning centres that reach children at an early age and give them the chance to learn and develop key skills – such as numeracy, literacy and creative thinking skills – through play. Access to quality education is a child’s best chance for a brighter future. An educated child is more likely to avoid disease, gain employment and will have more options in life.

community empowerment

We train and empower volunteers from the communities to run the Centres themselves. Volunteering at the Centres benefits the volunteers themselves by transforming them into change-makers and giving them the confidence, vision and skills to drive their communities forward.

health promotion

The Centres promote good health practices, in particular handwashing with soap. Diarrhoeal disease is the biggest killer of children in the developing world. Handwashing is free and is the best way to prevent infection.

child sacrifice prevention

Our project works to prevent child sacrifice in Uganda by changing the mindets and behaviours that are sustaining it. We run interactive workshops – using a story book as a discussion tool – to break the cycle of belief and ensure that future generations do not turn to it. We also promote a greater understanding of how to protect children from child abduction and sacrifice.
